Echoes Not Truth
Yeah I remember those words I don’t live in them anymore I’m not sorry for wanting something real For naming what I felt, for trying to heal Your certainty shifted like weather in spring One day we’re solid, next day nothing’s a thing We danced through storms, yeah the rain was loud But we both stayed moving, that matters now Chasing shadows of love we didn’t yet know I held on with hope, that’s not weakness, it’s human though You’re too much You complicate things This is on you You came here with feelings, that made it messy I felt overwhelmed, thought you were reckless with me Those words stayed with me, yeah they cut for a while But pain isn’t proof, just something survived Echoes aren’t truth, they’re moments in time Not the measure of me, not the rest of my life I showed up open, I showed up honest Didn’t always get it right, but my heart was constant Tried shrinking myself so it wouldn’t explode Silence felt safer than carrying hope You said I talked too much, felt too deep But depth isn’t damage, it’s just not cheap We built walls from fear, not lack of care Confused being triggered with not being fair You ask for too much You feel too hard You’re the problem I came here to change things, and you werent ready And that doesn’t make me the enemy Yeah it hurt, yeah it stayed for a time But it doesn’t define who I am now Looking back without self attack I see two people carrying different maps Some of my best days were still with you there That doesn’t mean I deserved despair I can honor the good without wearing the blame I can grow without needing you to explain What we were wasn’t fake, just unfinished and raw And I don’t need punishment to learn anymore I was the damage No, I was learning I was the reason I was present I ruined things No, I participated. And I evolved I didn’t come here to hurt you, I came here to grow To stop carrying weight that was never mine alone Maybe it wasn’t all lies We had real moments under complicated skies I’m more than the blame I wore back then I hope you’re happy I hope you’re free And I’m finally choosing To stand with myself Not against me Not sorry for being me
