Meet me under the mulberry tree He asked me quietly “What time?” like a secret to keep My heart skipped a beat Out of our houses we will sneak No sound on the street Shadows dancing at our feet Where the night feels free Counting minutes, holding breath Every second closer yet After 8 when the sun goes down We’ll find our way out of this town Our favorite tree at the edge of town Where no one else is around Two young hearts full of love Underneath the stars above In the dark, we come alive Just you and I tonight Whispers carried in the breeze Leaves hum melodies Every glance, every touch Feels like everything Footsteps light on quiet ground Lost but somehow found In your eyes, the world fades out No need to make a sound Hands that tremble, hearts that race Time slows down in this place After 8 when the sun goes down We’ll find our way out of this town Our favorite tree at the edge of town Where no one else is around Two young hearts full of love Underneath the stars above In the dark, we come alive Just you and I tonight If the morning comes too soon We’ll hide away beneath the moon Every risk is worth the view As long as I’m with you After 8 when the sun goes down We won’t let the world slow us down Our favorite tree, we won’t back down This love won’t make a sound Two young hearts full of love Written in the stars above In the dark, we come alive Forever starts tonight
