[Verse 1] I heard the war horns call From the tune, I knew They were not ours I yell for my axes One by one They hand me my axes I step from my long house I step to the edge of the clear [Pre-Chorus] Then my sons come near Then my daughter stands One by one, beside me I hear my shieldmaiden call We lock our eyes We hold our ground [Chorus] We stand together For the coming fight We raise our shields We raise our shields The enemy comes We do not run We raise our shields We raise our shields [Verse 2] I hear the north winds blow Cold on the skin Sharp in the teeth The ravens fly overhead Black on the grey Circling low Then Thor starts the thunder And the sky shakes hard [Pre-Chorus] Then my sons come near Then my daughter stands One by one, beside me I hear my shieldmaiden call We lock our eyes We hold our ground [Chorus] We stand together For the coming fight We raise our shields We rise our shields The enemy comes We do not run We raise our shields We raise our shields [Bridge] Hear that thunder roll Hear that iron cry If I fall tonight You remember why My blood, my name My house, my line Stand at my side Till the end of time [Final Chorus] We stand together For the coming fight We raise our shields We raise our shields The enemy comes We do not run We raise our shields We raise our shields
