The Ballad of Erik and Ameni - A Song of Lore from the Legends of Acoria.
I was an island, adrift in the sea. You saw through the crown, you saw just plain me. You were a pillar, steadfast sure and calm. You anchored my mind, did so with no qualm. You are here, nothing, now, shall I fear. Forever do I feel our souls to be near. Our hearts are now one, never to be made undone. Joined do we stay, two hearts now as one. Your breath slowed down Your pulse found light The frozen fire in your veins turned soft that night And for the first time you could rest your head On one who never once took back what he said I do not care for crowns or gold. I do not listen to prophecy and things foretold. I care only that I shall be at your side. And woe to any that would us divide. For two centuries I was alone. My heart heavy, encased in stone. Imprisoned, denied the one thing desired so very much. A hug. A kiss. Any soft, simple touch. You shattered the chains. You broke the bonds. Now an aching heart responds. You and me, a spirit, a love, a life now as one. Forever. Even when our sacred task is done. You are my compass, my moral guide. To us the oppressed have cried. You have given me a reason, a path made clear. My power and strength do not falter with you near. For you I pick up my sword. I bear the shield. Under your banner I command the field. I am your anchor, you are my guide. Together, our fate is what we decide. To you I give my heart. Despite any distance, never will they be apart. We are joined. We are as one. Creations wrath to any who would see us undone.
