[narrate] [Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.] The saviour knocked on the souls of men, for one too let him in. But they were cold and hardened from the effects of sin. He knocked with pleading on each heart, but left when none would hear; Men did not recognise his voice 'twas more than he could bear. "I gave my life so they might live, why won't they understand?" He knocked again, please let me in, Reach out and take my hand. Please open up your heart to me, I do not want to leave I've come so you might be set free, you only must believe. And then at last behind one door a man was crying there. "Is there no one to care for me, my soul is in despair? If anyone can hear my plea, please do not turn away. I'll let you in and welcome you, please hear my cry today Just please come in and stay with me, For I have no one to care The world has turned its back on me I'm my need there's noone there The Saviour felt his cry of pain The door was open wide He walked inside a broken heart And never left his side O sinner, hear the Saviour's call Please call on Him today please let him in and trust His love. He won't turn you away, Forever safe within His care, He's faithful, kind and true, and evermore you'll be secure because He cares for you.
