I thought I knew what faith looked like, Until the waves were over me. When all the dreams I held so tightly Were carried farther out to sea. My prayers became a thousand questions, My hope grew quiet in the night. I knew Your name… but lost my footing, As tears outshouted every light. Just like Peter on the water, I heard You call me, “Come.” But somewhere in the wind and thunder, My wandering heart forgot Your love. Still You reached for me. Before I reached for You. Your mercy crossed the raging water, When my strength could not break through. Your hand was never shaken. Your promise never moved. Even when my eyes were on the storm, Your eyes were always fixed on me. Jesus… my eyes are back on You. You never counted all my doubting. You never measured all my fears. You met me in my deepest sorrow, And stayed through every falling tear. The waves still whispered accusations, But Your voice was stronger still. The sea could never drown the Shepherd Who speaks the oceans into stillness. Every question found its answer Inside Your wounded hands. Not because You owed me reasons… But because You chose to stay. Still You reached for me. Before I reached for You. Your mercy crossed the raging water, When my strength could not break through. Your hand was never shaken. Your promise never moved. Even when my eyes were on the storm, Your eyes were always fixed on me. Jesus… my eyes are back on You. Teach my heart to trust the Savior, More than all the waves I see. Teach my soul that every promise Finds its “Yes” in Calvary. You are faithful in the silence. Faithful in the waiting too. Faithful when my hands are empty. Faithful when I’m holding You. If I walk upon the waters, Let it only be with You. If I ever start to falter… Lord, don’t let me look away. Keep my eyes on You. Keep my eyes on You. Keep my eyes on You. You reached for me. Before I reached for You. Love walked upon the raging waters, Grace made all things new. The cross became my anchor. The empty grave my proof. Now every breath becomes my worship. Every heartbeat sings Your truth. The One who never let me sink Will never let me go. Hallelujah. Christ alone. My eyes are fixed on You. When my faith was small… Your love was not. When my hands let go… Yours did not. Jesus… Thank You… For never letting go.
