Moonlit Wine
The Story Behind "Under the Moonlight with Wine" Shen Zhi met him for the first time on the night she was about to give up. That day, she had received yet another rejection email. Sitting on the floor of her rented apartment, gazing at the city lights outside her window, she picked up an old book from her bedside and turned to "Invitation to Wine." As she read, she heard someone sighing softly. She looked up. Moonlight poured through the window, and a figure sat on the windowsill, dressed in white robes, holding a wine flask. "You are..." "Li Bai," he turned his head. "Why are you crying?" "My work was rejected again." He smiled. "I understand." "What do you understand?" She felt a flash of anger. "You're the Immortal Poet. Your poems have endured for centuries. How could you possibly understand?" He said nothing, simply jumped down from the windowsill, sat down in front of her, and handed her the wine flask. "Take a sip." "I don't drink." "Then learn," he said. "I'll teach you." She took the flask and sipped. The liquor burned her throat, making her cough. He laughed. "Do you know why I drink all the time?" She shook her head. "Because when I'm sober, everything is too clear," he said. "So clear that I can see all the lights of Chang'an, and not a single one was lit for me." She froze. That night, he told her about Chang'an. He said those three years in Chang'an were the most painful of his life. Everyone thought he had made it, but every night he drank alone until he was drunk enough to sleep. "The day I made Gao Lishi remove my boots, everyone thought I was being arrogant," he said. "But only I knew that after that day, I was finished." "Do you regret it?" "No," he smiled. "I only regret not being even bolder." She smiled too. She told him about her folder. "I have a folder on my computer where I keep all the rejected pieces. Sometimes late at night, I open it and look at them. They seem good to me, but no one wants them." "Why do you keep them?" "Because," she said, "I keep thinking that maybe someday, someone will see them." "They will," he said. "I waited thirteen hundred years for you. You won't have to wait that long." They talked for hours. About moments of being misunderstood by the world, about words they wanted to say but couldn't, about the loneliness of being surrounded by laugh [Intro] 君不见 黄河之水天上来 长安的月 照不亮我胸怀 可总会有人 在千万人海 看见你眼里 深藏的光彩 [Verse 1 ] 我把山河写进酒 把孤独写成风流 世人只看功名利就 没人听懂我的忧愁 世人忙着证明活过 我却只想活得洒脱 长安满城千万灯火 映不出我心里的轮廓 他们笑我狂妄没救 不肯向世俗低头 因看透人间丑陋 才不让自己当木偶 [Verse 2] 我看见你醉的时候 眼里藏着不甘和寂寞 你把眼泪笑着吞入喉 骗过人间 却骗不过我 有些灵魂亮如星斗 注定难被人间看透 不是没人能够懂你 只是知音总在最后 沉香亭外花正浓 长安月色落衣袖 世人只记你诗里的狂 却没人懂你的温柔 「云想衣裳花想容」 你把人间写成梦 可真正让我敬仰的 是你不肯折腰的锋 [Pre-Chorus] 钟鼓馔玉不足贵 但愿长醉不愿醒 若全世界听不懂你 至少还有我愿意聆听 古来圣贤皆寂寞!
