[Verse 1] Yeah, I know sometimes you push, you pull, you drive us hard Think I don't understand the lessons in each guard You throw up in our path, a challenge we must face But underneath it all, I see your saving grace [Chorus] Mark Collins, no matter how hard you may go on me You're like a father figure to me, you see You've had my back through thick and thin, a constant, steady hand And that's why you're the father figure, you help us understand [Verse 2] You don't let us get comfortable, you don't let us stray You see the potential burning, you want us to find our way To build something solid, something true and strong And though the criticism stings, it's where we all belong [Chorus] Mark Collins, no matter how hard you may go on me You're like a father figure to me, you see You've had my back through thick and thin, a constant, steady hand And that's why you're the father figure, you help us understand [Bridge] It's not about the shouting, not about the glare It's about the belief you hold, that we'll get there With every tough word spoken, every hurdle we must clear You're forging us for greatness, banishing our fear [Chorus] Mark Collins, no matter how hard you may go on me You're like a father figure to me, you see You've had my back through thick and thin, a constant, steady hand And that's why you're the father figure, you help us understand
