[Verse 1] I came for the rain Found a glowing lane The sky went daft on us In my old wool coat My mates said, “fair play” Then stole my shade away Now I’m drinking slowly Like a saint afloat [Pre-Chorus] Sun on the cheek Pints in the week I’m red as a beet But I won’t retreat [Chorus] Pint in the sun Pint in the sun I melt, I grin And I order another one Pint in the sun Pint in the sun If the clouds stay gone We’ll be singing till it’s done (Here’s to the sun!) [Verse 2] The seagulls came round For a chip on the ground One nicked my bap Then bowed like a lord The lad at the bar Said, “you’ve gone too far” I said, “I’m from Cork I was born in accord” [Pre-Chorus] Sun on the neck I’m a glorious wreck With a foamy crown And a lilt in my check [Chorus] Pint in the sun Pint in the sun I melt, I grin And I order another one Pint in the sun Pint in the sun If the clouds stay gone We’ll be singing till it’s done (One more for the road!) [Bridge] I was raised on drizzle And a stubborn breeze Now I’m squinting hard At the daffodils and trees If the weather turns I’ll still hold my place With a proper Irish smile And a sunburn face [Final Chorus] Pint in the sun Pint in the sun I melt, I grin And I order another one Pint in the sun Pint in the sun Raise it high, my son For the rare old holy one (Pint in the sun!)
