[Intro] Five minutes. One post. One comment. One little fucking question. Right. Apparently we’re solving humanity again. [Verse 1] Something feels off, so I look for the proof One change in your voice and I’m digging for truth One sentence lands wrong, now I’m reading between What you said and what my history thinks you mean Are they distant? Are they lying? Do they care? Some stranger says, “Trust what your body already knows.” So I scroll. Next one says silence means somebody’s leaving Next says trauma makes fear feel like fact Excellent. Which fucking one am I looking at? I came for an answer Found seventeen doors LOOK CLOSER. THERE’S MORE. [Pre-Chorus] I never trained the machine It learned me while I stayed Watched where my thumb stopped moving Remembered what I feared that day Then the likeliest outcome gets served back as fate [Chorus] DOOM SCROLL Feed me everything I fear Make the danger feel clearer One more sign one more clue One more stranger explaining what somebody I love might do The algorithm learned the pattern before I knew there was one Kept handing me the likeliest ending till prediction sounded like intuition [Verse 2] Our parents were anti-social before social media made it a social status We learned silence in the house now the phone just fucking automates it Roof overhead— so why did something still feel cracked? Be quiet Be useful Don’t need too much Become independent before you learn how to trust Read every face, predict the fucking monsoon Then adulthood comes and the old rule survives: If they need me, maybe I matter. [Pre-Chorus] Attachment behaviour history control Study every mechanism like knowledge can make me whole Dangerously educated because uncertainty feels like doom [Chorus] DOOM SCROLL Every wound gets an algorithm every fear gets somewhere to go Almost loved almost chose Another pattern somebody online already knows Prediction starts sounding like intuition [Verse 3] Deleted the parent directory Thought that cleared the route Browser history laughed: “Cute idea, mate. I still know where you’re going.” Cached survival data sitting underneath Old pathways loading faster than what I consciously believe Close the tab clear the screen start again Same fucking autocomplete finishing the sentence in my head Maybe they care Maybe they don’t Maybe they’re scared Maybe they won’t Understanding every reason they might behave that way doesn’t tell me why they did it today. [Bridge] I got dangerously educated trying to feel dangerously safe. Learned every warning sign, every way people leave, every reason people stay. Somewhere in all that learning I forgot uncertainty wasn’t always a puzzle. Sometimes... I just don’t fucking know. And apparently that’s the answer my brain hates most. [Build] If I don’t know— I can’t prepare. If I can’t prepare— I can’t control. If I can’t control— something old checks every exit. So I scroll. Until maybe becomes probably and probably becomes obviously. [DROP] THREATS AIN’T INVISIBLE ONCE YOU KNOW WHERE TO LOOK Problem is— IF YOU LOOK LONG ENOUGH EVERYTHING STARTS LOOKING LIKE A FUCKING THREAT [Final Chorus] DOOM SCROLL You didn’t build the fear in me You just learned exactly where it lived and built a fucking feed Every label, every stranger’s explanation starts sounding suspiciously like mine But awareness ain’t certainty And fear ain’t always fact Recognition tells me LOOK It doesn’t tell me how to act The machine didn’t write my history— it just got really fucking good at predicting where I’d click [Outro] Put the phone down. Information without distance becomes ammunition for whatever you already fear. Maybe I read it right. Maybe I fucking won’t. I can survive not knowing tonight. [phone locks] Five minutes. That’s what I said three hours ago. The doom wasn’t in the scroll. The doom needed the scroll to keep existing
