Title: Character Is Gravity Verse 1 Some stories start with thunder, some stories start with rain, some start with one lone person walking straight into the pain. The world can build a furnace, the world can build a wall, but watch what starts revolving round a soul that will not fall. Pre-Chorus Not perfect from the beginning, not fearless from the start, but something keeps on growing in the weather of the heart. Chorus Character is gravity, the center that holds true. Put a soul inside the fire and the story gathers too. Not the crown, not the title, not the part they let you play — character is who you are when the world gets in the way. Verse 2 Val-john took mercy in his hands and carried it like flame. Atticus stood before the crowd when the crowd forgot its name. Jon Snow held the frozen line where the bitter winds had blown. Andy kept a secret hope no prison wall could own. Pre-Chorus The plot was never stronger than the heart beneath the scars. Some people walk through darkness and teach the night the stars. Chorus Character is gravity, the center that holds true. Put a soul inside the fire and the story gathers too. Not the crown, not the title, not the part they let you play — character is who you are when the world gets in the way. Verse 3 Fern heard a small life crying when the world said, “Let it go.” Hermione packed courage with the books she came to know. Anti-go-knee stood buried in a law the king denied. Some souls become the doorway where the truth comes walking wide. Bridge Sam was not the hero anybody thought would shine, but love can climb a mountain one faithful step at a time. Don Quixote tilted heaven at the ordinary sky. Sirius kept his heart alive where lesser loves would die. Three boys faced the fire and would not bow the knee. An old man fought the ocean to remember who he’d be. Breakdown And maybe that is character: not what the world allows, not what the crowd applauds, not what the moment crowns. It is the vow beneath the voice, the root beneath the tree, the name you grow into when you choose who you will be. Final Chorus Character is gravity, the center that holds true. Put a soul inside the fire and the story gathers too. Not the crown, not the title, not the part they let you play — character is who you are when the world gets in the way. Tag When the world gets in the way, when the night calls out your name, may the soul you’re growing into be the fire that still remains. Character is gravity. Character is flame. Character is who you are when the world forgets your name.
