[Verse] You know in every town theres a big old water tower, when I was a kid if you climbed it, you had all the power. my friends and I would climb the one in our small town, going up was easy, but we were scared when we had to come down. you could sit at the bottom picking grass and all the flowers , or you could have fun like us, climbing water towers. [Chorus] Climbing water towers, you could see for miles in every direction. climbing water towers, just sittin’ up there you had time for some reflection. funny how we would never cower, just a bunch of high school kids who loved to climb, old water towers. [Verse 2] 10 years later they tore the old water tower down, how sad, it was the only one around. in our little town, so we tried to find another one. Searched in places high and low, but there it was a little further down the road. after this day had left me feeling sour, me and my friends ran down this street so we could climb, this new water tower. [Chorus] Climbing water towers, you could see for miles in every direction. climbing water towers, just sittin’ up there you had time for some reflection. funny how we would never cower, just a bunch of high school kids who loved to climb, old water towers. [Bridge] In life be brave, don’t be afraid and have fun along the way. don’t let fear cause you to run or cower, just go on up and climb, that old water tower. [Chorus] Climbing water towers, you could see for miles in every direction. climbing water towers, just sittin’ up there you had time for some reflection. funny how we would never cower, just a bunch of high school kids who loved to climb, old water towers. We will always love to climb, always love to climb, old water towers.
