The calendar tore, a sudden storm Not nature's chill, but something born From deep within a frozen will A silence meant to wound and kill We thought our fields were safe from sleet But ancient malice met our feet When winter came, it cracked the ground A permafrost where life once crowned The world turned white, a frigid hand We felt the strength across the land A burning core, a molten stand Our long-kept fire, close at hand They watched us sleep, they saw us sow Believed our spirit wouldn't grow Against the weight of ice and stone A cruel dominion, stark and lone They sought to bury every seed But failed to see our ancient creed When winter came, it cracked the ground A permafrost where life once crowned The world turned white, a frigid hand We felt the strength across the land A burning core, a molten stand Our long-kept fire, close at hand For centuries, we learned to fight Against the endless, crushing night A thousand springs, a thousand falls We built these walls inside our souls
