[Intro] Attention. Apparently I’m a terrible influence. Good. Hide the instruction manual. He never read it anyway. [Verse 1] They said, “Jack, behave.” I said, “Define behave.” They handed me a line, I redesigned the page. I’m highly advised against, mildly deranged, Smile in your face while I’m filing complaints. Wait— Why everybody panic when the mouthpiece talks? I ain’t kicked the door, I just found it unlocked. Then walked right through with my shoes still on, Like, “Whose house?” Wrong question— I brought my own lawn. I’m obnoxious, polished, Problematic with options, Got a thought doing donuts While another one’s parking. You’re cautiously talking, I’m casually launching A paragraph shaped like a fist Into awkward conversation. (Oops.) Somebody confiscate the microphone quick, He discovered that syllables come with a switch. Click-click— Now the whole little sentence gets flipped, Word bends, nerve ends, Everybody suddenly pissed. I’m not dangerous. I’m inconvenient. There’s a difference. Danger gets stopped— I get recommended by the algorithm. [Pre-Hook] Tell your friends, Tell your boss, Tell the neighbor down the hall: “If that man gives advice— Do the opposite.” Perfect. [Hook] I’m a bad example, Put my face inside the handbook. Cross my name out twice— Bet they still take a damn look. Bad example, Every warning makes the crowd come. If I’m what you shouldn’t become— How come everybody wants one? Bad example. Bad, bad example. Don’t follow me. (Why you following me?) [Verse 2] Look, I got a mouth like a lawsuit waiting on paperwork, Brain doing eight jobs, None of ’em clerical. Every comparison somebody makes is hysterical— “You remind me of—” Stop. Finish that sentence and bury it. I’m Jack. Different animal, Different mechanical, Different way I’ll take an ordinary phrase And make it anatomical. Cut it apart, Put it back with incompatible parts, Now the noun got an attitude, Verb got a criminal charge. That’s ridiculous. Exactly. I’m disrespectfully technical, Recklessly flexible, Sentence got three exits, I’m taking the questionable. You’re waiting for the punch, I’m already several ahead of you, Set up the setup, Then set up whoever was setting you. Hold on— Run that back. Nah. Catch up. I got critics taking notes like, “This probably means something.” Nah, sometimes I said it ’cause the combination sounds disgusting. That’s the fun part. Everybody digging for a hidden confession, I’m eating cereal watching six-hour breakdown sessions. “He tilted his head at eleven seconds— Symbolic aggression.” Bro. I had an itch. [Bridge] Voice one: You should probably tone it down. Voice two: Why? Voice one: People might misunderstand you. Voice two: They misunderstood the quiet version too. …fair point. [Verse 3] Now I’m back with a battery pack Attached to the back of a badly behaved imagination, Having debates with myself About whether restraint is just fear With a nicer presentation. Damn. I got patience, Just not enough to waste it. You build your whole identity Around who might validate it. I’ll say what I meant, Then stand there while they translate it, Turn one sentence into twelve, Then blame me ’cause they complicated it. Internet courtroom: “All rise.” For what? “He made a joke.” Life. I’ve been acquitted. I’m irritatingly calm when the room gets tense, Like somebody threw a chair And I’m reviewing the craftsmanship. “Nice arc. Poor landing. Six outta ten. Try again.” You can’t shame me into shrinking, Can’t bait me into swinging, Can’t place me in a category Then celebrate the fitting. I’ll crawl out the label, Peel it off the container, Stick it onto the forehead Of whoever invented the chamber. Now everybody mad. Good. Means the blood still works. I’d rather leave a room annoyed Than leave my own words rehearsed For approval from people Who change what they love every month, Then act shocked when the person they pressured Finally becomes— Boring. Couldn’t be me. [Final Hook] I’m a bad example, Put my face inside the handbook. Cross my name out twice— Bet they still take a damn look. Bad example, Every warning makes the crowd come. If I’m what you shouldn’t become— How come everybody wants one? Bad example. Bad, bad example. Don’t follow me. (Why you following me?) [Outro – spoken] For legal reasons, none of that was advice. For personal reasons— I’d probably do it again.
