🇺🇦 My entry for the #PoetryForFreedom Challenge organized by Jess 🇺🇦 https://suno.com/s/HxBFxienX7buNfPz This piece is based on a powerful poem by the legendary Ukrainian poet Lina Kostenko — a voice that carries the memory of war, childhood, and the resilience of the human spirit. Let this be a reminder to the world: Ukraine is not just a place of war. It is a land of poetry, depth, and ancient culture. A land where, even in the darkest moments, someone still writes their first poem — and it matters. If this resonates with you, I invite you to join the challenge: 🎙 Choose a Ukrainian poem 🎼 Set it to your own music 🕊 Share your voice for freedom With love, HELLENSI 🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼 Це ж треба мати сатанинський намір… 🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼 📝ENGLISH: My first poem was written in a trench… It must take a satanic intent… harboring an incurable rage… to torment us so cruelly… and then blame us for it all… --- My first poem was written in a trench… on that crumbling wall from the blasts… when the stars were lost from the horoscope… my childhood, killed in the war… Volcanic lava of fire was pouring… gardens stood in ashen craters… And our crossing was choking… in a furious squall of flame and water… The white world was no longer white, but black… The fiery night lit up the day… And that little trench — like a submarine… in a sea of smoke, horror, and fire… Oh, the first pain of those not-childlike impressions… what a trace it leaves upon the heart! How the unspeakable cannot be said in verses… will the soul not become mute? The soul in words — like the sea in a periscope… And that memory — like a glow on the brow… My first poem was written in a trench… It was printed straight on the earth…
