MOLLY-JO'S DANCE TONIGHT Sun went down behind the pine Lanterns strung along the line Boots are polished ribbons tied Everybody's running wild inside Molly-Jo's got her shoes all shined Best dress hanging on the line There's a rhythm beating under the floor And she's stepping out right through the door Gonna dance tonight gonna dance tonight Molly-Jo's dance tonight Fiddle sings and the banjo rings Everybody's gonna shake their wings Down at the hall where the pine beams glow The whole world's watching Molly-Jo Cousin Joe brought the mandolin Uncle Tom's got the old violin Grandpa tapping with a cane on the floor Says nobody sat down since quarter to four Molly-Jo leads the whole parade Every step perfectly made Hair is flying feet are fast Like a spark struck out of the past Gonna dance tonight gonna dance tonight Molly-Jo's dance tonight Fiddle sings and the banjo rings Everybody's gonna shake their wings Down at the hall where the pine beams glow The whole world's watching Molly-Jo [INSTRUMENTAL — banjo roll then fiddle takes the lead, trading back and forth, lively and bright] When the moon hangs high and the floorboards creak She don't miss a beat she don't speak Just spins around like a autumn leaf Leaving every worry and every grief Gonna dance tonight gonna dance tonight Molly-Jo's dance tonight Fiddle sings and the banjo rings Everybody's gonna shake their wings When the music stops and the lights burn low They'll remember Molly-Jo
