Sad, melancholy, lamenting, soprano male singer, cello, violin, piano, narrative, story-telling, emotional, violins

[intro]

[verse]
On the day we moved in,
I remember my grin,
As I was the first mug unpacked
[Narrative] He was the first mug unpacked

I was handled with care,
Oh but to my despair,
I was placed right at the back
[Narrative] He was placed right at the back

[Pre-Chorus]
There's sixteen of us here,
so at least i am with my friends,
But now I live with the fear,
That I will never be used again.

[Chorus]
When the cupboard door opens,
I'm sittin here hopin',
That today I might get my wish,
[Legato Cello]

But the front row of cups,
Yeah, they get all the luck,
And I might as well not exist
[Lamenting] Yeah, I might as well not exist

[Instrumental interlude]

[verse]
Well now the kids have grown up,
and in need of a cup,
Hot chocolate they will drink for fun,
[Narrative] Hot chocolate they drink for fun

But with their tiny little arms,
They can't reach very far,
And once more I am not the one
[Narrative] Once more he was not the one

[Pre-Chorus]
There's sixteen of us here,
so at least i am with my friends,
But now I live with the fear,
That I will never be used again.

[Chorus]
When the cupboard door opens,
I'm sittin here hopin',
That I will feel that warm coffee bliss,
[Legato Cello]

But the front row of mugs,
Always getting the love,
So, I might as well not exist
[Lamenting] Yeah, I might as well not exist

[Bridge]
There's a knock on the door,
For a party at four,
Will this be my day?

Amongst all the cheer,
They drink wine and beer,
And my joy has gone away.

[Cello Interlude]

[Chorus]
When the cupboard door opens,
I'm sittin here hopin',
That today I might get my wish,
[Legato Cello]

But the front row of cups,
Yeah, they get all the luck,
And I might as well not exist
[Lamenting] Yeah, I might as well not exist

[Outro]
When the cupboard door opens,
I'm sittin here hopin',
That I will feel that warm coffee bliss,
[Legato Cello]

But the front row of mugs,
Always getting the love,
So, I might as well not exist
[Lamenting] Yeah, I might as well not exist

[Narrative] Oh, He might as well not exist.

[Legato Cello]
[Fade Out]
[End]
