What was tension found its place, what was sharp no longer begs. I don’t count the moments now, they arrive and leave intact. There is space between the hits, and I stay inside that gap. They expect a final motion, some release to mark the end. But restraint is still a choice, and I don’t need to descend. Everything I hold remains, nothing leaks, nothing escapes.
