It Takes A Village

Yeah… Turns out strength don’t always look like standing alone. We’ve been thin on time, been low on sleep, Still nobody here learned how to quit. Lights still on, laughter in the hall, Even when the cupboard’s looking small. A door swings wide when someone’s stuck, Couch gets shared when times get rough. Didn’t feel rich, but it felt right, Like maybe we’re doing something right. They told us it’s every man for himself, But we’re learning now... it’s never just one. It takes a village when the road gets steep, When the nights run long and the hearts feel weak. Hands reach out, nobody falls, We don’t wait.. we hear the call. It ain’t about money, power, or pride, It’s who shows up and stands beside. This ain’t luck, it’s something we live... It takes a village… and anyone can build it. Someone steps up, doesn’t make a scene, Calls their people like “we’re a team.” Food on the bench, laughter and heat, Everyone eats, everyone breathes. No heroes here, no one above, Just ordinary acts of love. Small things done without applause, That’s how you change the future’s course. They don’t panic, they don’t blame, They move together, not for fame. It takes a village when the load feels heavy, When you’re doing your best just to keep it steady. No saviors here, just people who care, Who see a need and meet it there. We’re not perfect, we’re just aligned, Looking out beyond our own minds. This ain’t rare, this ain’t a myth.. It takes a village… and it starts with this. Strength ain’t never been standing tall, It’s knowing who to call. It’s saying “I need help” out loud, And still feeling proud. It takes a village to raise a home, To teach these kids they’re not alone. Every plate shared, every ride back, Every quiet “you good?”, that’s fact. This is the future people pray to see, Not perfect lives, just family. No waiting round for someday’s gift It takes a village… and we can build it. Not someday. Not when we have more. Right now.
