[Verse] Trouble comes knocking No warning sign Crossing the line of no end The devil's grin Sharp as a knife No faith to guide Just the gamble of life [Chorus] The devil is a lie Oh he plays it so sweet He’ll dance in your mind Make you taste defeat When faith’s gone missing And hope’s running dry Trouble without faith The devil is a lie [Verse 2] A whisper in darkness A deal gone cold The fire burns low But the story’s old The weight of the night It’s heavy as sin Without faith to fight How do you begin [Prechorus] You pray You scream You look to the sky But the stars They hide No reply [Chorus] The devil is a lie Oh he plays it so sweet He’ll dance in your mind Make you taste defeat When faith’s gone missing And hope’s running dry Trouble without faith The devil is a lie [Bridge] I saw him laughing A flicker of red A crown of deceit On the path I tread But I won’t bow down I’ll spark my own flame Faith’s just a match And I’ll stake my claim
