We thank God, the Father of Jesus, our Lord
Every time we pray for you, as we've heard
Of your faith in Christ, and the love you show
To all God's people, wherever they go

This faith and love it springs from the hope
Stored up in heaven, beyond your eye's scope
In the truth of the gospel you've come to know
And the message of grace will continue to grow
Like a seed that is planted throughout the earth
The gospel bears fruit, the fruit of new birth
As it did in you too from the day that you heard
And understood grace, in each gospel word
You learned from EH-puh-frus among faithful friends
A servant of Christ, we've heard what he sends
He told us of love the Spirit imparts
And the bond that connects and mends broken hearts
So we haven't stopped praying since we first knew
That God would fill you with wisdom anew
To understand His will and walk in His ways
And please Him in all and keep you for that day
Bearing fruit in good works and growing in grace
Strengthened by power, and walking in faith
Enduring with patience, giving thanks with pure joy
For the Father's gift, that cannot be destroyed
He rescued us from darkness, we were lost in the night
Brought into His Son's kingdom, into marvelous light
In whom we find redemption, and our sins forgiven
A new life in Christ, a path into heaven
He's the image of God, the unseen made clear
The firstborn of all, forever held dear
For by Him all things were created to be
In heaven and earth for all eyes that see
Thrones, powers, and rulers -- all find their place
Through Him, and for Him, and by His boundless grace
He holds all things together, He is before all time
The head of the church, in His power sublime
He is the beginning, the first from the dead
So that in everything, He might be the head
For in Him alone dwells the fullness of God
Reconciling all things, making peace through His blood
Once you were estranged, your hearts turned away
But now reconciled, alive in Christ, and on the day
Presented holy, without blame or stain
If you hold to your faith, and in hope remain
This gospel you heard, it is spread far and wide
To every creature, where ever they reside
And I, Paul, a servant, this message impart
This truth that transforms, and changes the heart
