O Evergreen, Carry Us Home [STTZ - This Christmas]

Into the winter wood we stride, stars in the boughs, the moon our guide. Fir against sky, so brave, so tall- axe rings once, and silence falls. Resin and frost on mittened hands, we laugh and lift what winter grants. Keep the promise, little tree, home is waiting, come with me. O evergreen, carry us home, forest heart, bright needles, green and warm. We’ll dress you fair with ribbon and light, be our star of the winter night. O evergreen, stand in our room, turn every shadow into bloom. Down quiet lanes through drifting snow, door softly clicks, the candles glow. Shake off the flakes, trim true the base, set you straight in your silver vase. Gingerbread hearts and glass that gleams, nuts and straw stars, the thread of dreams. Strike the match and count to three- eyes are wide as lights agree. O evergreen, carry us home, forest heart, bright needles, green and warm. We’ll dress you fair with ribbon and light, be our star of the winter night. O evergreen, stand in our room, turn every shadow into bloom. Bless every branch with peace and cheer, let love grow bright for all who’re here. O evergreen, carry us home, forest heart, bright needles, green and warm. We’ll dress you fair with ribbon and light, be our star of the winter night. O evergreen, stand in our room, turn every shadow into bloom. O evergreen, sing while you shine- tonight our hearts and yours align.
