Animal Farm - by Calliope

ANIMAL FARM They said it was for our own good that some day he would attack us letting him do would not be shrewd preventive strike was obvious. His move to protect his fellows A gilded claim, deceitful ruse, Aggressive step from devious foes "Preventive strike", what an excuse ! Their words were spread across the land everyone praising their wisdom The Truth was set, the Snake's lies banned, The doubtful jailed to save Freedom Truth was murdered on public place thanks to their sheep's denial, They set their power, bear no face Sure there won't be no trial Why should men not deserve their fate ? For little have they ever learned. They breed the wolves that stalk their gate. Like cattle waiting for their turn. They filled our minds with what to think To belong to the righteous side Until our reason learned to sink Our minds washed by their dogma’s tide. To fools they turned our ancient sages, And made one truth out of our doubts; To put our free minds into cages, Then drowned our voices with their shouts. Truth was murdered on public place thanks to their sheep's denial, They set their power, bear no face Sure there won't be no trial Why should men not deserve their fate ? For little have they ever learned. They breed the wolves that stalk their gate. Like cattle waiting for their turn. The selfsame serpent sheds its skin, Still keen to play the oldest game. We crown the frauds, condemn our kin for we are still the ones to blame ? They forge their crowns from bloodied bones, Their sceptres carved from widows’ sighs; On children’s blood they build their thrones, Their banners rise on countless cries. Why should men not deserve their fate ? For little have they ever learned. They breed the wolves that stalk their gate. Like cattle waiting for their turn.
