[Verse 1] Found a cart by the curb One wheel talking back Rust on the handlebar Slosh in a cracked black sack A shopping list half-gone On a bent receipt Milk, pears, paper tape And a stain from something sweet [Pre-Chorus] I pushed it down the block It rolled like it knew me Little broken compass Taking turns for free [Chorus] Cart in the rain Cart in the rain I keep on pushing it home Cart in the rain Cart in the rain Look at me, not alone (Push it now) (Cart in the rain) [Verse 2] Crosswalk light turned green But I missed my cue A dog barked once and twice Like it had some news At the laundromat door I saw my face in glass Tired, but it laughed at me When the cart rolled past [Pre-Chorus] I leaned into the frame Let the storm keep time That little bent wheel Stayed on my side [Chorus] Cart in the rain Cart in the rain I keep on pushing it home Cart in the rain Cart in the rain Look at me, not alone (Push it now) (Cart in the rain) [Bridge] Maybe everything lost Wants a second mile Maybe a crooked thing Can still move in style So I take the long way Past the bakery sign One squeaky wheel, one heart Keeping pace with mine [Final Chorus] Cart in the rain Cart in the rain I keep on pushing it home Cart in the rain Cart in the rain Look at me, not alone Cart in the rain Cart in the rain Now it feels like my own Cart in the rain Cart in the rain I’m still rolling on home (Push it now) (Cart in the rain)
