I know the door, know the hallway, know the lie before it speaks, Know the hunger, know the bargain, know the promise ain’t that deep. “Just this once.” That’s how it enters, never kicks the whole thing in, Asks for one more inch of ground until the room belongs to sin. I called anger “being honest,” called my pride “respecting me,” Called my envy “motivation,” called my lust “just chemistry.” Called revenge “protecting peace,” called the gossip “being real.” Funny how I change the language when I don’t wanna face the deal. Sin. Say the word. Don’t dress it up. Don’t make it small. If it put my Savior on a cross, it wasn’t harmless after all. And here’s the part that cuts, Sometimes I knew and did it still. Not confused, not unaware, I just wanted what I wanted more than will. I prayed, “God, take this appetite,” Then fed it when nobody knew, Asked Him to remove the chain While keeping links inside my room. Then shame came like a prosecutor. “Again? You call yourself redeemed?” That’s the trap behind the trap, Sin pulls you forward with desire, Then shame blocks the road back home And tells you God has finally tired. But Christ came looking. Not because the dirt was light, Not because the debt was fiction, Not because wrong became right. He came because sin kills, Because the wage was death, Because self-improvement never Could resurrect my breath. Cross. Blood. Nails. Grave. That’s how serious this is. Empty tomb. Risen King. That’s how powerful mercy is. Grace ain’t permission to decay. Grace breaks the prison, points away. That’s the anthem, WALK AWAY. When the old voice says, “Come back,” WALK AWAY. When your flesh says, “You need that,” WALK AWAY. Not because temptation vanished, But because Jesus changed the facts. Sin can knock. Sin can call. Sin can scream. It ain’t my king. I don’t owe that grave allegiance. I don’t bow to everything I feel. I can want it and still flee it. I can feel it and still say no. Freedom isn’t never hearing chains. Freedom is knowing they don’t own you anymore. I learned the order, I don’t fight so Christ will stay. Christ already came and got me, So I fight from what He gave. I don’t pray to earn forgiveness. I pray because the door is open. I don’t repent to purchase mercy. I repent because the chains are broken. Some days I catch it early. Some days the battle gets extended. Some nights I lose a round, But I refuse to call defeat my ending. Get up. Confess. Cut the route. Bring the hidden thing to day. Delete the number. Leave the screen. Change the room. Walk away. And don’t make discipline a savior. Habits help, but Christ redeems. You can polish prison walls And still be locked behind the scene. I need more than behavior. I need Spirit in my lungs, Need a heart that loves the Savior More than everything I’m running from. When anger says, “Explode,” I remember mercy spoke. When lust says, “Feed me now,” I remember what it broke. When pride says, “Never bend,” I remember Christ went low. When shame says, “Hide from God,” That’s exactly where I won’t go. I run toward Him. Dirty hands. Open heart. Nothing hidden. No performance. He already knows. That’s why grace is grace, And grace does not erase the truth. It gives me enough truth to face it Without letting failure write my future. Sin is real. Grace is real. Cross is real. Christ is King. Remember that when temptation Starts rehearsing what to sing. SIN AIN’T KING. Say it again. SIN AIN’T KING. It had a wage. Jesus paid it. Had a claim. Jesus broke it. Had a grave. Jesus walked through it And left that grave wide open. SIN AIN’T KING. Not my anger. Not my lust. Not my pride. Not my envy. Not the secret I keep feeding While I’m smiling like I’m empty. SIN AIN’T KING. I may battle. I may bleed. I may stumble. I may grieve. But temptation isn’t ownership When Christ has made me free. So I stand. Not flawless. Not fearless. Not pretending. Just redeemed. War inside my body, But a King above the screaming. Sin says, “You’ll always come back.” Jesus says, “Follow Me.” One voice built the prison. One Voice walked me to the key. I know the door. Know the hallway. Know the lie before it speaks. Now I know another road. Sin ain’t king. Jesus is.
