[Intro] [spoken warmly] From the chest... to the sky. That jump is called yodeling. Here we go. [break] [Intro Yodel] Yo-de-lay-eeeee-hooo! Yo-de-lay-eeeee-hooo! Ho-la-di-ay, ho-la-di-ay Yo-de-lay-ee-hooo! [Verse 1] [chest voice] I start down low where the valley rings Strong like the roots of the oldest pines Then in a blink I leap up high Like an eagle cutting through the sky That sudden switch from dark to bright Turns one voice into mountain light From chest to head in one quick roll That happy crack is the heart and soul [Chorus] [big joyful yodel] Yo-de-lay-ee-hoo, hear it fly Jumping from the earth to sky Low then high in one clean glide That’s the yodel mountain ride Yo-de-lay-ee-ay, clear and free Echo dancing peak to tree Laughing notes that spin and roll Yodeling straight from the soul [Verse 2] [teaching tone melodic] Keep the throat easy, let tension go Use the flip where the registers flow Don’t push hard, let the change come fast The playful break is meant to last Some notes bounce and some notes call Some race upward, some gently fall Every joyful turn you hear Is courage mixed with mountain cheer [Bridge] [spoken] Chest voice... Head voice... Now switch quick. Again. [Yodel Break] Yo-lo-dee-ay-ee-hoo! Ho-la-di-oh-la-day! Yi-yi-yi-ee-hooo! Yo-de-lay-ee-ay! [Final Chorus] [bigger energy] Yo-de-lay-ee-hoo, hear it fly Jumping from the earth to sky Low then high in one clean glide That’s the yodel mountain ride Yo-de-lay-ee-ay, clear and free Echo dancing peak to tree Laughing notes that spin and roll Yodeling straight from the soul [Outro] [soft fading yodel] Yo-de-lay-eeeee-hooo... Ho-la-di-ay... Yo-de-lay... Hooo...
