Life was given by mercy and grace, God could’ve handed it to any soul in any place, But for reasons only Heaven could explain, We were the ones who drew that name. Seven hearts in a single frame, Bound by love no man could claim, Different roads, but one last name… Tell me Lord… why us? Why this flame? Like an oak tree stretchin’ toward the sky, Some branches low, some reachin’ high, North wind blowin’, some drifted south, Different prayers from different mouths. Paths would cross and then unwind, What was yours once became mine, Still we tried to walk in faith, Through every doubt and twist of fate. Why does love get tested by the years? Why does faith get tangled up in tears? When two are gone from the master plan, Lord, help us understand. Ninety years and her heart still strong, Still singin’ her own sweet song, If love is patient, if love’s the key, Then love is everything… Love is everything. Dad laid down and Heaven called, Mom stood up though her heart had fallen, Still honorin’ every vow they made, But time reshapes the plans we laid. Then another chair sat empty one day, A brother’s laugh just slipped away, Two strong pillars, now out of sight… So what do we hold to in the night? Mom said softly, “It’s time I speak, My needs have changed, my bones are weak. I love your father, I always will, But I must follow my heart still.” Yet voices rose from love or pride, Clingin’ to the past they couldn’t hide, Thinkin’ Dad’s old dreams should stand, Even if they crushed her gentle hand. An attorney’s pen… A trembling hand… A new page written in her plan. Blessed by wisdom, steady and clear, Her wishes spoken without fear. But silence fell where laughter had been, Brothers and sisters divided again. Seventy years and still we fight… Lord, that can’t be right. Why does love get tested by the years? Why does faith get tangled up in tears? When pride stands taller than mercy’s call, We risk losin’ it all. She’s happy now, her heart at peace, Found her strength in sweet release, If we’d just open our eyes and see— Love is everything… Love is everything. Power’s shifted where trust remains, To hands that know her joys and pains, No one’s left, the door’s still wide, If hearts would lay their pride aside. Arguments at this stage of life, Are wasted days and useless strife, We once were children at her knee… Maybe it’s time to let her be. Lord, teach us what she’s shown so long, That mercy’s always stronger than wrong, And when our final chapter’s read, Let grace be what we said. Ninety years and still she proves, Faith is more than what we choose, Through every doubt, through every sting… Love… is everything. Love… Is everything. Mmm… yeah… Love is everything.
