So, I live in Argentina and I'm currently in med school (here in LATAM, you can get into med school without having another degree). I finished high school at 18, in 2020, and started med school right after. The whole program is supposed to last 7 years, but it’s going to take me at least 9. I was doing great during my first three years, but then last year I started struggling with stress and anxiety. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t focus on my studies, and I ended up dropping out for the whole year. This year, I'm back in med school and I'm actually doing well, but because of everything I left behind last year, it’s going to take me at least two more years to finish med school, assuming I don’t fail any classes. It’s really hard not to compare myself to friends I had when I was younger. I knew I’d be graduating later because I wanted to be a doctor, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this late. Honestly, I’m scared about graduating at 27, because most people finish their degree around 23 or 24. It’s hard to look at myself and not feel like I’m failing. I had so many dreams and plans for my life, and now I feel like I’m going to spend so much time studying and then just trying to find a job to support myself, that I won’t be able to achieve many of the things I wanted. Also, and I guess some people might relate to this, I feel really unmotivated. It seems like I’ll have to work every single day with little to no rest just to afford rent and food. Everything is so expensive— cars, food, housing, travel. The prices go up every year, but salaries stay almost the same. What’s the point? Am I supposed to live my whole life to work? It
