[Verse 1] Going to the outside picture show Your hand in mine, don’t let go Popcorn salt on my fingertips Cheap seats, wide eyes, soda sips [Pre-Chorus] We weren’t rich, but we were free Four wheels, friends, and a starry street Daddy’s rules far behind We were young and out our minds [Chorus] Moonbeam Saturday, moonbeam Saturday We were just kids and we were running away Moonbeam Saturday, moonbeam Saturday Laughing all the way home, not a care to say (Oh-oh) moonbeam Saturday (Oh-oh) moonbeam Saturday [Verse 2] Driving home with the windows down Your laugh rolled through that quiet town Headlights painting the sleeping trees Small-town nights and reckless dreams [Pre-Chorus] Clock on the dash said way too late But the whole wide world could sit and wait No plan, no map, no fear Just you and me out here [Chorus] Moonbeam Saturday, moonbeam Saturday We were just kids and we were running away Moonbeam Saturday, moonbeam Saturday Laughing all the way home, not a care to say (Oh-oh) moonbeam Saturday (Oh-oh) moonbeam Saturday [Bridge] If I close my eyes, I’m there Back in the dark, back in the air Your seatbelt loose, my heart on fire That old back road taking us higher [Final Chorus] Moonbeam Saturday, moonbeam Saturday We were just kids and we were running away Moonbeam Saturday, moonbeam Saturday Moon on the hood and your hand in my hand (Oh-oh) moonbeam Saturday (Oh-oh) moonbeam Saturday
