Up, Up, Up!

R&B, urban gospel, neo soul, gospel, live, Christian Rock, pop, chill

Dedication: for my big brother, who is an Air Force veteran

NOTE: This song's "numbers" are lower, as I deliberately held this track back from any trending (or even "New Songs"). I made three remixes for this contest and since I didn't know which one would be best received, I didn't want to choose one to loom over the two others.

Then? They all fared about the same when I released them ALM and simultaneously -- despite little visibility. In the end? None "won," as my entries tend not to, during these in-house contests.

It's still okay, because I always grow, while reworking other people's work -- esp if it's on a high level to begin, as the original templates usually are. I'm also LucKy enough to have already received a number of awards IRL. So that really helps to not let these smaller losses affect me. I've actually reoriented to look at all the contests as only learning challenges, primarily showcases, and a personal opportunity to stretch -- for which I always remain grateful. And I've also seen that it's best to not invest too much emotionally into "winning."

Meanwhile? Wishing everyone else much better luck in their own attempts! In general, I hope to soon see some creators begin to "break out" -- and as I said recently in a comment, it really doesn't even matter WHO -- only that some do.

[intro]
Who, ooh-ooh...

[verse]
Small town parades
Fireworks up high.....
Number one on earth
No, we don't run nor hide....

[chorus]
Let freedom ring
Old glory will fly (fly) fly
Happy birthday to USA
On the Fourth of Ju-Ju-July
Light 'em up (up, up!)

[verse]
Grills looking hot
The drinks are ice cold....
The American way
Oh, it never gets old....

[chorus]
Let freedom ring
Old glory will fly (fly) fly
Happy birthday to USA
On the Fourth of Ju-Ju-July
Light 'em up (up, up!)

[bridge]
The red, white, and blue
They light up the skies
It’s one nation under God
And standin' side by side…..

[chorus]
Let freedom ring (ring, ring)
Old glory will fly
Happy birthday to USA (U, S, A)
On the Fourth of Ju-Ju-July
Light 'em up (light ‘em up!)

[outro]
Light 'em up, yeah (yeah)
Yeah!

[end]
