[ parody of the short story "To Serve Man" (1950) ] [ by Damon Knight (1922–2002) ] i just met a space girl and she looks like you and me she's got a plan she just wants to serve man who am i to disagree? body like an angel and her eyes are laser beams i've got a hunch that she'll take me for lunch she's the space girl of my dreams came here with her people they're as friendly as can be trustworthy-ish and their singular wish is to serve humanity took them to our leader and they said, quote, "can't you see?" we're just like you everything that we do is to serve humanity they bring peace and plenty and they do it by the book helpful and wise we don't dare criticize step aside, just let them cook let's go pay a visit to the folks who come in peace we're all stuck here on this little old sphere and we wanna be released rapture me and take me to the starry sky above long one-way trip on a big silver ship to a planet of pure love
