I looked in the mirror hoping to see The face of my Saviour reflected in me I searched for His glory, I looked for His grace But I could see no more than myself in His place Instead of His glory, I saw sadness and pain What I felt in my spirit I could not explain I looked for an answer for I thought that I knew Why the light of my Saviour was hidden from view For I knew that I loved Him and felt it would show And I questioned the reason, for my heart did not know Then filled with confusion I asked Jesus why The light of His glory was hidden this day 'I love you for all you have given to me But your light in my life I am wanting to see' Then a gentle voice whispered ‘You don’t understand. The thing that you look for is right in your hand It’s not yours to hold, but for you to share It’s when you are caring my light will be there I have given you gifts to be shared among men So when you reach out to others they’ll be freed from sin My light’s always there, it’s my reflection in you As you shine in the darkness my light will shine through So don’t look to a mirror to see what I see Just know that your life’s a reflection of me
