[Verse 1] She danced in the glow of a paper moon Thought the stars would catch her soon High hopes in a sky of gold Promises whispered Dreams untold [Prechorus] But the ground it pulled her back Reality painted in shades of black [Chorus] She dreams of paradise Oh paradise Where the world is kind and the sun won't die She closes her eyes Escapes the fight And lives in her paradise tonight [Verse 2] Her shoes wore thin on the gravel road Each step heavier Her pace slowed The world was a storm Her heart a kite Caught in the wind Yet holding tight [Prechorus] But the rain could never drown The castles she built in clouds [Chorus] She dreams of paradise Oh paradise Where the rivers sing and the mountains sigh She closes her eyes Lets the pain subside And drifts to her paradise tonight
