[Verse 1] There is a place called Calvary Where Jesus carried a cross Before He bled and died for you and me Love was walking for all the lost Can you imagine standing there In Golgotha as He passed on the street Would you watch in heavy despair Or run to help Him lift that tree Oh the tears I cry just trying to understand How much pain He chose to suffer As they drove nails in His hands [Chorus] Jesus Jesus Lamb of God upon that hill Jesus Jesus You chose the cross You chose God’s will Every stripe Every wound For a sinner such as me Jesus Jesus You gave Your life to set me free [Verse 2] Soldiers shouting Crowds unsure Dust rising where His footsteps were I hear Him whisper “It is for love” As heaven’s silence swells above Would I turn my face away Or kneel beside Him on the ground Reach out shaking Stained with fear Feel redemption is drawing near [Chorus] Jesus Jesus Lamb of God upon that hill Jesus Jesus You chose the cross You chose God’s will Every stripe Every wound For a sinner such as me Jesus Jesus You gave Your life to set me free [Bridge] Oh the weight of every sorrow On His shoulders On that tree Yet He’s calling out tomorrow “I have risen Follow Me” (follow Me) [Modulated Chorus] ( With Choir) Jesus Jesus Lamb of God upon that hill Jesus Jesus You chose the cross You chose God’s will Every stripe Every wound For a sinner such as me Jesus Jesus You gave Your life to set me free
