Sunlight tracing his face, it glows With golden whiskers in his sleepy pose Eyes are leaden with a troubled weight Work comes callin', guess I’ll be late Lay him down, let the warmth wrap tight Beneath the halo from the skies outside Chasing shadows from the soft daylight This sunshine nap is telling me it’s time The world can wait while he takes this dive Falling deeper, barely still alive Our bed of rays conveys all my care My hands and tears muss his Siamese hair Wrapped in this blanket of an amber hue The force leaving underneath his lids Annoyed by the noise from my humming fridge This morning's his, nothing else is breaking through Let the clock tick, I don't mind its sound Minutes pound while they’re winding down Let the sunshine kiss his dying face Right here in my arms...his favorite place Lay him down, let the warmth wrap tight Beneath the halo from the skies outside Chasing shadows from the soft daylight This sunshine nap is telling me it’s time...
